I think I've fixed it now, I put the old library files back in and just to try it I ran the update command on my Pi.
This didn't take long and now when I update on my PC over the network it works as it used to/should do.
I don't know why this suddenly fixed it but it did.
In the process of copying files across I lost my original library files due to me being an idiot so I've lost all my progress and can unfortunately no longer email you a copy of the file, sorry.

The administrator has disabled public write access.
