Suggestion

To read an xml in CBZ containing tags as does Caliber software.
It would be more convenient than exporting the DB, allows to modify a CBZ / CBR without losing information.

Reading comic tags is a feature that is frequently requested. We are looking into it, but it probably won't happen in one of the next releases.

Writing comic tags probably won't ever happen as we have a strict philosophy of "do not tamper with the comic books". What we could do is write an xml file that could be used alongside the comic book or, if the user wants this, be added to the book by using a third party archiver program.
My answers are not necessarily official YACReader statements but mostly represent my own opinion in technical matters.

I'm not talking about adding an XML file to the archive but only to read this file if it is present

Reading xml is a planned feature, but not for the current 9.x series.

It would be nice, if one could export the XML (comicinfo.xml) at least. If it could be written to the file, that would even be cooler, but I respect your decision.
