I managed to solve the problems, while we wait for the "official" fix.
To solve the "Quit unexpectedly" error message I followed dcato solution:
dcato wrote:
Workaround for application user is
1. Open options window
2. Press "Background Color"'s "Choose" button
3. Select tab other than "Color Wheel" tab. For example color pencils tab.
4. Close color picker. No need to actually select color.

To solve the "YACReader not found" error I uninstalled YACReaderLibrary (only the library) using CleanMyMac which deletes all the files. Then I reinstalled it and now it works without problems!

Uninstalling the library with CleanMyMac and reinstalling did the trick for me aswell. Thanks! Hope the problem doesn't come back!

Uninstalling YACReaderLibrary simply by dragging the app to the trash, and reinstalling again solved the problem also, without the need to use CleanMyMac.

That did the trick for me, thank you.

Was just trying it out (along with the iOS version) and was a bit baffled by the issue.

For what it's worth, even CleanMyMac didn't work for me (although helpfully running it on YAC did seem to result in deleting my actual comic library, which is inconvenient but not catastrophic). Running it, I still can't open the reader from the library. Same error.

Ok, selmf and I have worked on this today. Finally we know why this is happening.

So far the only solution I have found is to do this from the console:
ln -s ./YACReaderLibrary.app/Contents/MacOS/YACReaderLibrary YACReaderLibraryLink

It creates a link to the YACReaderLibrary binary inside YACReaderLibrary.app. Double click on YACReaderLibraryLink and it should open YACReaderLibrary, then it should be able to see YACReader.app

I will try to get the apps properly signed for the next release, that should fix the issue.

Please, take a look to the macos dev release: www.yacreader.com/forum/testers/971-development-releases

It should fix the "YACReader not found" error.

Sierra 10.12.5

Tried the dev release, still getting the YAC Reader not found error. Tried placing both apps on the desktop, that didn't work either. However, manually creating the shortcut with

"ln -s /Applications/YACReaderLibrary.app/Contents/MacOS/YACReaderLibrary YACReaderLibraryLink"

Does solve it.
