Folders, Files and Subfolders

Hello,

In YACReaderLibrary application (MacOS), when I have this folder with only subfolders, I can see a cover on the right of the application for every Subfolder :

Folder
|_Subfolder1
|_Subfolder2
|_Subfolder3

When there are also Files in the Folder (see below), I can only see covers for the files but not for the Subfolders anymore.

Folder
|_Subfolder1
|_Subfolder2
|_Subfolder3
|_File1
|_File2

Is this the normal behavior of the application?

It is, originally YACReaderLibrary only had the left tree view and the comic flow + table view, so folder browsing was exclusive of that tree view, later I added more views for the comics, the grid and info views, but navigation was still the same, and later I added the folders grid view too + the home view but it doesn't support comics yet. I normally have single shots and specials in their own folders to help with this.

I'd like to make the grid view support folders and comics but it will create some inconsistencies in the UX, so I need to find a nice solution before I do it.

Creating a separate folder for one-shots or for miscellaneous documents related to an author or a series is exactly what I had in mind, so I’ll reorganize my library that way.

Great to hear this is at least being considered, I guess for now one shots will simply be in their own folder beside the full volumes.

OMG just noticed it works perfectly after all, just not in the desktop software, but on the yacreader library server website it works perfectly as well as on android and iphone when connecting to the self hosted server. Would be cool if it also works on the desktop app, but honestly I'm content with this new realization

One bug I noticed is that on the web version it is sorted alphanumerically. However on ios and android it is sorted first by folders alphanumerically,and then alphanumerically by single volumes, making sure the folder are always first. I personally find that approach better, maybe it would be good to give the same sorting method to web as well to stay consistent

Ah yeah, the ios/android apps don’t have this limitations. The web browser is pretty much work in progress so take it with a pinch of salt.

Also I'm really loving the web browser version, thanks for putting all that effort into it
