JPEG XL/JXL

Any chance of adding compatability for JPEG XL/JXL images? Today is the first time I've encountered a .cbr that had them and couldn't be read by the and this was after installing the JPEG XL Image Extension for windows 11.

Using: YACReader-v9.16.3.26010361 for Windows 64bit

Grab the plugin from here: github.com/novomesk

And then put it in the image formats folder, like this github.com/novomesk/qt-avif-image-plugin/issues/12

Well, the instructions on how to isntall that plugin are incredibly (to me) complicated and there's no .dll file in the zip at all but I'll poke at github and see if I can find instructions for dummies thanks.

The releases for the plugin are a dll, downloaded it and put it in the path you can find in the second link, then restart the apps.

Sorry to sort of hijack the thread. Is there a solution for MacOS as well?

On macos is similar but inside the app bundle YACReader.app/Contents/PlugIns/imageformats, you need to find dylib libraries for the formats you want. There is caveat though, once you modify the app bundle the signature and Apple's notarization will probably become invalid, so you'll need to let YACReader run through the security system settings. You need to do the same with YACReaderLibrary.app

I'll add an alternative path in the app settings folder so users can put there new plugins without messing with the installation.
