I deleted a bunch of comics but the space taken up by yacreader remains the same. I tried deleting and reinstalling the app, and also connecting to itunes but the issue remains. When you look inside the app, it says the space is being taken by “other”, but in ios settings it shows yacreader is still taking up that space.

When i reinstalled the app, the space went down, but as soon as i add any comics, it goes straight up to what it was before, regardless of how many comics i put in.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

What comic format are you using? cbr, cbz, pdf?

What import method are you using?

And this discrepancy in the report size happens before you delete any files?

How many files do you have imported?

I can't replicate the problem.

What version are you running?

Ive since tried importing files through itunes, and the problem doesn't arise in that case. So, it only seems to occur when i import from my external ssd using the import from files option.

So lets say i delete my comics which i had imported using my ssd. Then when i check the ios storage space, it shows it correctly. However, as soon as i import even a single comic (~200mb) from the ssd, it goes back to showing 44gb.

Again it only seems to be happening when i use the "files app" method in import.

Im running version 3.12.0.0 on iPadOS 14.3

Hmmm, try to reboot your device after importing from your SSD and check again (without opening YACReader first) what the system reports.

It could be a leak in the file descriptors, so Apple thinks that part of your SSD content belongs to YACReader.

I tried that earlier, and it didn't seem to have any effect. I even tried deleting yacreader and reinstalling along with the data, but moment i put in a single comic it shows the previous 44gb, even though my library has only a single comic.

For now im just sticking to importing from itunes, since thats working without issues.but you might be right, it might be an iPadOS bug and not so much a yacreader issue.
Thanks for your help!

Yeah, sounds pretty weird. Let me know if you find anything else.

Thank you for using the app.
