For some times, I've been concerned by the remaining issue of locks when using YACReader Library on a Samba/CIFS share in a private network : either you enable the lock and you can't resume the reading of your comics or you disable the lock and it take ages to load the pages...
With CIFS, there's no solution.
The only way I found : transform your CIFS share in a NFS share. it's quite simple. You may use this tuto : doc.ubuntu-fr.org/nfs (in french, but you may find the same in english, I think).
Be careful : dont use space character before the parenthesis in the /etc/exports file.
After that, juste use the nolock option in the /etc/fstab mount line in your client computer, and it works perfectly !

Hope it can help
