Hi buddy,

we use different decompression libraries on Windows and Linux. Windows currently uses an outdated version of 7zip to decompress comic book archives, Linux uses the unarr backend. We were forced to do this about 2 years ago when a new version of 7zip broke combatibility with our wrapper code and fixing things was deemed to be considerably more work than switching to another backend. Ideally we would like to switch over Mac and Windows too, but, as you noticed, we're still missing proper 7z support ;) We still have the old wrapper code present, so technically YACReader can stll be built with the 7zip backend, but we don't encourage it. It is old, unmaintained code …
My answers are not necessarily official YACReader statements but mostly represent my own opinion in technical matters.

SO basically my best option is to convert my 7z's to something else like zip?

I wrote a script to convert my 7zs to zips. It wasn't a gamebreaker for me. If it is needed, I can upload my Script here.
