Yes, they are planned, I started to move towards a better way of dealing with UI styling across platforms time ago, it's a huge change that requires a lot of work.
Almost two years later since that last comment and still no dark mode on macOS.
I don't mind the interface itself, but the white background is just too bright, especially in the Library app. And it's the library app that adds value. There are enough readers.
Dark mode alone, so no UI styling, can't be that hard to implement.
Well, I'll try again in 2028.
